Summary of the work Planning and driving the delivery of common technology components to support our transformation programme including cloud and enterprise technologies. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 3 months initially with opportunity to extend for up to 2 years Latest start date Monday 3 February 2020 Maximum Day Rate Up to £650 Who Speclialist Work With Initially working with the architecture practice and IT Demand team to build a plan and socialise with our transformation programme, while also initiating some implementation work by engaging and overseeing with third parties. What Specialists Work On You will plan and oversee the delivery of common technology components to support our transformation programme. This includes delivery of new platform components such as Azure Kubernetes Service, upgrades of existing platfrom components such as IBM Integration Bus to AppConnect Enterprise, and creation of new reusable building blocks such as an address management service. For the right candidate we will look to extend you to oversee the delivery of this work by working with a team of delivery managers to drive the outcomes you've defined during the planning stage. Skills & Experience • Evidence of ability to organise, plan, report, escalate, unblock, motivate and provide structure to deliver an outcome • Experience leading delivery of £1m+ pieces of work • Experience working with external suppliers and contractors to deliver outcomes • Experience planning multi-year, complex technology projects including resource and financial management, and dependency management • Technical experience in modern cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud • Technical experience with integration products such as IBM, Mulesoft, Tibco • Experience leading agile delivery teams while being considerate of broader • Experience with project management tooling such as Microsoft Projec • Experience with agile delivery management tooling such as JIRA, Microsoft TFS, Azure DevOps Nice to Haves • Experience with or leading projects using Azure • Experience with or leading projects using IBM integration technologies • Experience with or leading projects in government • Experience with Microsoft Project • Experience with Azure DevOps • Experience overseeing continuous improvement teams Work Location Intellectual Property Office, Concept House, Cardiff Road, Newport NP10 8QQ Working Arrangments Full time on site Security Clearance SC Clearance No. of Specialists to Evaluate 5 Cultural Fit Criteria • Work as a team with our organisation as well as suppliers. • Drive outcomes making decision effectively while also considering the point of view of others • Delivering messages effectively while considering the individuals' involved • Working within an organisation's standards, policies and processes Assessment Method • Reference • Interview Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 60% Cultural fit 20% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers 1. What’s the proposed timeline for awarding the contract CV's and interviews will be requested following the shortlisting stage. This is likely to be between 22nd - 24th January. Target date for award is 28th January. 8. Can you confirm the IR35 status of this position? As we will be contracting for outcomes this will not be considered Contingent Labour and will therefore fall outside of IR35. 9. If the specialist has to relocate would the authority be willing to allow some remote working? For the purposes of your response please assume you will be required on-site 5 days a week. Depending on workload, performance and activities we may provide flexibility on some Fridays but this should not be assumed
