Demolition of Redundant Buildings at St Athan Business Park

Tender description

This contract comprises a single Works Contract which is more fully defined in the Employer’s Requirements and will include the following scope:  Site establishment;  Pre-demolition asbestos surveys of required buildings;  Decontamination/decommissioning and removal of any and ALL bulk or residual hazardous substances including ALL above ground asbestos and residual hazardous materials from the Site;  Soft strip and removal of all non-structural elements of all buildings to be demolished;  Pre-demolition structural survey of buildings to be demolished;  Disconnection of services for the buildings scheduled to be demolished  Protection of retained buildings or buildings to be demolished at later sections of the Works;  All temporary or permanent design works;  Supply of all information required to the satisfaction of the local planning authority to allow discharge of Contractor responsible planning conditions;  Demolition of all Site buildings (excluding those stated to be retained) including any suspended basement layers and plinths;  Removal of all materials including equipment and plant plinths and podiums back to structural concrete slabs levels;  Removal of all materials hazardous or otherwise from site with the exception of the retained brick and concrete;  Removal of underground storage tanks and associated below ground infrastructure at the former fuel dispensing area.  Retention of designated roads;  Protection of retained structures and services;  Removal of all above ground redundant services;  Ecological protection and mitigation measures;  Crushing of retained brick and concrete and on-site, utilising the resulting 6F2 granular fill for site levelling.
