Tender description

This is an Invitation to Tender for the Provision of WBRID Bridgend Local Energy Market Demonstration Projects to Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) Brief Outline: The Authority intends to conduct an “Open” Procedure procurement competition, advertised on Sell2Wales to obtain responses to a Challenge Question as detailed below: ‘Bridgend Local Energy Market Demonstration Projects: Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) are launching a Whole System Business Research Innovation for Decarbonisation (WBRID) competition to identify how projects could be developed to test a local energy market (LEM) in Bridgend and understand how the LEM could operate within current market rules and where derogations could be sought to enable the LEM to operate to its fullest extent.” The Authority is seeking Specialist Tenderers, with the necessary skill set, experience, competence and capacity to submit their Innovative Solutions and Proposals to develop a Feasibility Study during Phase 1 of the project and potentially move into future phases to test the projects. The Authority’s requirements are to be conducted over a possible Three (3) Phases labelled below: Phase 1 – Bridgend Local Energy Market Demonstration Projects as follows for: * The Authority intends to select up to a maximum of Four (4) of the highest scoring submissions received, as evaluated by a Specialist Evaluation Panel, and each will be awarded a contract with a maximum value of £25,000 (excluding VAT) and given a fixed period of time of (1) month to develop their delivery solutions.
