Tender description

Visions for a Net Zero Future is a project led by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and aims to contribute to a successful UK Presidency of COP26. This project will develop a series of country/regional-specific Visions that bring to life the scientific evidence on different global pathways to a net zero future, exploring science and innovation solutions and the co-benefits and trade-offs. These Visions will be developed in virtual workshops by regional stakeholders, including technical and non-technical. These workshops will outline the scientific and engineering evidence and opportunities in different future scenarios and involve discussions on the different perspectives, priorities and trade-offs, with the aim of developing a collective Vision of the future. These Visions will be translated into high-impact, engaging and creative visualisations to support engagement ahead of, and at, COP26. The successful bidder will: 1) Design the visioning focus and methodology including working with UK government to identify the focus regions, sectors and themes. 2) Gather and synthesise the evidence needed to develop these Visions, including country-specific climate vulnerabilities, mitigation, adaptation and resilience pathways and their associated co-benefits and emerging tech innovations. 3) Design and deliver virtual engagement workshops to develop the Visions, as per the methodology the contractor has developed. International coordination will be supported by academic and diplomatic networks. 4) Translate the Visions into engaging visualisations of these futures, which can be used in engagement activities. Additionally, the contractor should design and deliver an interactive and immersive exhibit displaying these Visions at COP26. We welcome consortium bids to ensure there is expertise to deliver in each of these areas.
