The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who sought to establish a contract for the supply of new born calf serum to the Welsh External Quality Assurance Service (WEQAS). The serum must be: — sterile tissue culture grade from BSE free herds, — tested and found negative for Mycoplasma and Adventitious viruses, — optically clear and free of particulate matter. The successful supplier must be able to provide evidence of testing for glucose and provide 5 ml aliquots of the material prior to acceptance of any delivery. As part of the tender, a minimum of 2 lots of 100 ml samples will be required for quality testing free of charge for the WEQAS team to evaluate.
