‘Please note this is an award notice, not a call for competition’. This requirement is for the design, manufacture, commissioning and full maintenance of the High Resolution Ex Vivo MicroCT Scanner to be used at the Mary Lyon Centre (MLC) of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Medical Research Council (MRC), full details of which are contained in the UKRI-1087 Specification document (and any other associated documentation). ‘Please note this is an award notice, not a call for competition’. This requirement is for the design, manufacture, commissioning and full maintenance of the High Resolution Ex Vivo MicroCT Scanner to be used at the Mary Lyon Centre (MLC) of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Medical Research Council (MRC), full details of which are contained in the UKRI-1087 Specification document (and any other associated documentation). The purchase will include: A benchtop microCT scanner with no adaptation of the lab environment required, A computer to drive the scanner, Delivery, installation and on-site training for the equipment. Additionaly, the purchase must include the following At least minimum 2 years of full maintenance contract, inclusive of all parts beyond manufacturer’s warranty. (Additional maintenance contract years are highly desirable.) An external automated sample changer Scanner must have the following characteristics • true desktop installation without modification to existing fitted laboratory benches; • system capable of operation from standard 13A single phase power sockets; • system should not require any additional services such as water, chiller or compressed air; • high resolution of at least 5 μm isotropic voxel size at a sample diameter of 20 mm; • maximum sample diameter of at least 70 mm; • maximum sample length (height) of at least 100 mm; • maximum scannable sample height of at least 6cm when max height specimen installed; • computer control of sample position (height, centering) within the scanner; • capable of batch scanning several samples within one holder; • capable of automatic stitching of images from samples exceeding single frame height/width; • easy control of X-ray source voltage up to 100kV and filament current to 100μA; • computer control of filters for the X-Ray spectrum; • shielding of X-ray radiation to allow unclassified operators to operate; • sample stage able to clamp commercially available Xray transparent tubes; • automatic sample changer.
