Tender description

The purpose of this framework agreement is to allow Kirklees Council to block purchase beds within residential care and nursing home settings for short term stays. Short terms stays are necessary to free up hospital beds, when service users are deemed medically fit to be discharged from hospital but their long term care requirements/packages of care are not immediately available. These beds are also utilised by people in community settings who require an urgent step up provision. As this framework is for short term stays, the residential care and nursing homes for the purpose of this framework must be located within the geographical boundaries of the Kirklees District as: (i) it is not practical to transport a person seeking care to residential care and nursing homes outside the Kirklees district; (ii) the social workers would not be able to check on a person outside of the Kirklees district; (iii) GP registrations for such persons are restricted only to the Kirklees district.
