Tender description

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) have a requirement for wellbeing services for an initial three-year period to support approximately 500 employees. The tender shall be split into the following lots: Lot 1: Basic Occupational Health; Lot 2: EAP Employee Assistance Programme (EAP); Lot 3: Mental Health Specialist Services and Wellbeing Team Training and Support; Lot 4: Fitness Testing Programme; Lot 5: Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation Services; Lot 6: Resilience Training Officers and Watches. Documentation shall be available from Thursday 17 December 2020. The contracting authority reserves the right to award the contract(s) for some or all or none of the lots. The provision of an occupational health and well-being service using highly skilled and appropriately qualified health staff. The service will deliver services including new recruit medicals, three-yearly medicals for operational staff, HGV medicals and immunisations. The provision of an employee assist programme service. This will include 24-hour access to assistance and avenues for providing counselling and advice. The provision of mental health support (online and in person) and treatments, including treatments for PTSD and mental health issues if required and support for the in-service wellbeing support team. The service shall provide resilience prevention sessions for up to 30 officers every 6 months. Develop and deliver a robust annual fitness testing programme procedure, including the annual fitness testing which is based on the Chester step test and give advice as a service fitness advisor. The service will need to be offered at NFRS locations including unsociable hours. The provision of sport therapy and rehabilitation services including exercise programmes and on line resources to promote quicker return to work and to assist in treatment to promote a greater and quicker recovery. The provision of a service to enhance resilience to traumatic events and officer response roles to help prevent reaction and issues from operational duties.
