An opportunity now exists to implement a software solution which will deliver a single, unified platform capable of delivering the necessary tools, not only to provide the required functionality, but also to help drive and improve a best practice culture around GDPR Compliance across the organisation. The GDPR requires organisations which process large amounts of sensitive personal data to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO). It is a legislative requirement that the DPO be provided with the “resources necessary” to carry out his/her functions. Implementing a new GDPR technology system will facilitate this, and in addition assist with the achievement of the organisation’s strategic goals, in particular: • Introducing an effective governance structure and framework alongside risk management • Addressing training and development needs of our employees and ensuring we have the right skills, equipment and infrastructure to effectively deliver the wide range of services expected of us.
