Tender description

A requirement for two separate accommodation-based, Supporting People services in Southampton to clients with mental health issues. The two services will provide support in a variety of accommodation units in the city on a block contract basis. Each service will provide on average 7 hours of housing support per person per week. This is a short-term service, therefore clients are expected to move out of the properties within two years. The provider will be offering housing support to clients referred by the mental health panel. Within each contract, part of the provision will be personalised, i.e. the service users will be able to decide whether a proportion of the service is to be delivered in hours of support or in a different form (to be agreed between the provider and the service user). The services will be tendered as two Lots as follows: Lot 1. Mental Health Move-on South. Service to be provided in a cluster of properties consisting of 43 units of accommodation at comprising 5 sites; and Lot 2. Mental Health Move-on North. Service to be provided in a cluster of properties consisting of 43 units of accommodation comprising 6 sites. The successful organisations that are awarded the contracts may be required to take on housing management responsibilities in respect of some or all of the properties, on a separate lease or management arrangement with some or all of the housing associations and any private landlords. This arrangement will be directly with the housing associations and private landlords and will not form part of the service contract with Southampton. Organisations may apply for one or both Lots. Each contract however, will be awarded to a separate provider.
