Tender description

This is a market engagement exercise on behalf of the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and care partnership collaboration at scale estates and facilities programme. The programme is looking for waste contractors to transfer and dispose of, or treat, the residual waste and recycling arising from the Trust premises. The services required include domestic waste, clinical waste and confidential waste. The programme consists of the following NHS Trust organisations: • Aintree, • Alder Hey, • Bridgewater, • Cheshire and Wirral, • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, • Countess of Chester, • East Cheshire, • LiverpoolHeart and Chest, • Liverpool Women’s, • Liverpool University Hospital, • Mersey Care, • Mid Cheshire, • North West Boroughs, • Royal Liverpool, • St Helens and Knowsley, • Southport and Ormskirk, • Walton Centre, • Warrington and Halton, • Wirral Community, • Wirral University. The list is not exclusive. The organisations may or may not be part of any future tender. This is a market engagement exercise. The programme is looking for waste contractors to transfer and dispose of, or treat, the residual waste and recycling arising from the Trust premises. The services required include domestic waste, clinical waste and confidential waste. The programme is seeking to explore with potential contractors the opportunities and solutions available for the collection, treatment and disposal of waste and recycling arising from the Trusts premises. The requirements may include: (a) correct segregation; (b) implementation of the circular economy; (c) innovation; (d) reducing the carbon footprint to zero. This market engagement process is designed to help the Trusts form a view of the best way to provide the services and to inform the specification. It is not the beginning of a tender exercise. A further tender advertisement will be issued at the appropriate time as/if required. You will not be disadvantaged in any subsequent tender process if you choose not to be involved in this market engagement but the Trusts do wish to understand your views at this early stage.
