AHDB Exports are looking for a Portuguese/French/English speaking representative to develop the Portuguese and sub-Saharan African markets for British lamb and beef. The successful representative must have the expertise and experience to identify the right priority markets, and the ability to devise the best local strategies to achieve effective market growth for British lamb and beef in the Portuguese and sub-Saharan African markets. The successful representative will be responsible for increasing sales of quality assured British lamb and beef in Portugal and of fifth quarter items into sub-Saharan markets. The contract is for 2 years with the option to extend for a further two periods of 12 months each if required. Responsible for driving value and volume sales, the successful representative will be expected to perform the following duties: • liaise closely with the AHDB Exports team, agree and update on activity and provide the latest market intelligence and insights; • identify and develop priority markets for British lamb and beef; • effectively maintain and build new relationships with relevant contacts in the Portuguese and sub-Saharan market. Where appropriate, work jointly with them to increase market exposure and demand for British lamb and beef; • devise and implement effective local strategies for the promotion of British lamb and beef aimed at increasing awareness and brand loyalty; • act as brand ambassador for British produce; • liaise with central AHDB staff in areas such as media, PR, digital.
