Tender description

Contractors are invited to tender for the construction of a new two-storey extension to the existing secondary school, incorporating a standard two-classroom ASD suite along with ancillary mainstream accommodation, a soft play area, sensory garden and all associated site works. The proposed construction consists of strip foundations, suspended ground floor deck, precast concrete hollow core floors, masonry walls with concrete band beams at wall plate level, timber joisted roof structure with slate roof finish. The works also include the part demolition of the existing two-storey building comprising of entrance lobby, sanitary facilities and general classrooms to accommodate the proposed new entrance lobby connection between the existing building and the proposed new extension. Works are within the curtilage of a protected structure however no works are proposed to the protected structure itself. Please note that all works are to be carried out in strict adherence with the Department of Education & Skills, Technical Guidance Documents. Access to the subject site is somewhat restricted, given its’ town centre location and so the tenderer must factor for all such complexity when compiling his / her bid. However, it should also be noted that given the nature of the work involved, it is paramount that the tendering Contractor is in a position to commence works on site immediately following appointment and therefore have all the resources required to meet the pertinent handover dates. Infection Control / COVID 19; the PSCS / Contractor shall prepare a H&S statement demonstrating measures that will be put in place to ensure that works can be carried out in accordance CIF Standard Operating Procedures as well as confirming measures to be taken to monitor these processes.
