Tender description

The Golden Jubilee National Hospital intend to purchase consumables for use with Edwards Hemosphere continuous cardiac output monitors in the following categories: — Invasive (PAC — Pulmonary Artery Catheter) for invasive continuous cardiac output; — Arterial pressure based cardiac output direct from arterial catheter; — Non-invasive cardiac output via a finger cuff. The National Waiting Times Centre Board intends to enter into a contract with Edwards Lifesciences being the only option meeting our requirement. In accordance with our interpretation of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 the services can only be provided by the particular provider for technical reasons and competition is therefore absent for technical reasons due to the unique essential requirements of the equipment required, namely Edwards Lifesciences is currently the only manufacturer of consumables specific to the Edwards Hemosphere CCO monitor.
