Tender description

LJMU is undertaking to build a telescope enclosure on the site of the decommissioned Carlsberg Meridian Telescope at the Roque de Los Muchachos on La Palma de Canarias as part of the new robotic telescope project. As such we will require groundworks and construction of foundations and a building with movable elements. We welcome potential solutions from suppliers regarding the groundworks, foundations and building (described here as the ‘enclosure’). To ensure that the solution is fit-for-purpose we expect proposed solutions to address the three elements (groundworks, foundations and building) as a whole. This is a request for information exercise for us to ascertain the market capability, and determine our final specification prior to tender.
