Financial Support Emergency Boiler

Tender description

Organising and funding the costs of securing emergency heating engineer call-outs for households in financial crisis over the winter months. This will be administered by registered charity Energy Projects Plus, capacity for which (amongst other things) is created through an allocation of Tranche 4 funding and is the subject of a separate Smart Form (Elspeth Anwar - budget holder). This allocation is solely for covering the costs of Wirral-based 'Gas Safe' engineers to attend households with emergency boiler breakdowns (i.e. emergency call-out, repair, labour). This will link to existing projects operated by EPP which may in turn help with boiler replacements for those beyond repair and also link to emergency temporary heating provided by MF&RS (also funded through this Grant). This project is funded by the COVID Winter Grant Scheme (DWP). Recommendations for spend were agreed with partners and community-based organisations, agreed in principle by TCG & SCG and the subject of a Chief Officer Decision (published 24/11/20). Referral processes were agreed yesterday. EPP's charity reporting is up-to-date.
