Tender description
Provide essential household items (white goods, furniture, etc.) to families and individuals in financial crisis over the winter months and do not meet the threshold for support from the Council's Financial Support with Welfare Scheme. This project is funded by the COVID Winter Grant Scheme (DWP) which is emergency COVID funding. Recommendations for spend were agreed with partners and community-based organisations, agreed in principle by TCG & SCG and the subject of a Chief Officer Decision (published 24/11/20). The funding is entirely for the purchase of items by St Vincent de Paul Society, there are no administration costs. This will be co-ordinated by the Society's Moreton Office at Sacred Heart Church. This is one of two awards to community-based organisations as part of this specific project - no other community-based providers have been identified.
