Tender description

Southampton City Council is undertaking a review of the future arrangements for the delivery of its Cremation Services. As part of this exercise the council wishes to explore through a soft market testing exercise the opportunities for outsourcing the service. The council invites interested parties to participate in this exercise and in particular to consider arrangements for either a longterm management contract or outright purchase of the business. Any alternative proposals would also be considered. A set of data will be provided relating to the running of the business and there will be an opportunity to visit the site. Proposals will be required by the end of June 2009 and the council intends to confirm the intended future delivery arrangements for the service later in 2009. Subject to the outcome of this exercise, the authority may undertake a formal tender exercise to source an appropriate solution or solutions. The involvement of any organisation in such a tender will not be prejudiced in any way by whether or not they have engaged in the soft market test advertised by this Notice.
