The aim of this project is to provide Innovate UK with information on the performance of our Newton Fund programmes. This information, initially on outputs and then (through the ex post evaluation) on outcomes and pathways to impact, will provide critical learning which will feed into the design of future Newton programmes. The evaluation is necessary for two reasons: firstly, to allow us to understand if we have achieved what we were intending through our Newton programmes and if they represented value for money; and secondly to allow us to change the direction of any future programmes as necessary, in order to make them more effective.
