Stonework Repairs - Bargate, Southampton

Tender description

Southampton City Council invites applications from experienced suitably qualified companies to undertake a package of Conservation and Restoration works to the Historic Bargate in Southampton. Companies should have particular experience of stonework and associated building works to Scheduled Monuments and Listed Buildings. A single contractor is required to carry out a package of conservation works to the North Elevation and Roof Parapet Walkway of the Bargate. The overall budget of these works is c.£200k. The works to include: Stonework Repairs, Roof Paving Works, 'Caen' Stone Carving works to Heraldic Shields, Roof Waterproofing and Lead Flashing Works, Lime re-pointing, Removal of calcareous deposits from stonework. The basis of the Contract will be the JCT Intermediate Form of Contract 2011. A minimum of four and maximum of six tenderers will be invited to tender for the works.
