Roofing Works –Southampton Crematorium, Civic Centre Library and Guildhall

Tender description

Southampton City Council invites applications from suitably experienced contractors who wish to tender for one or all of: (1) Southampton Crematorium – The overlay of existing flat roofs with new felt waterproofing system (Note: the works are to be carried-out out of hours, ie evenings and weekend working only). Estimated value £120,000. Anticipated duration 12 weeks. (2) Southampton Civic Centre Library - The removal and replacement of existing asphalt to the flat roofs of the library building, to include replacement of low level windows. Estimated value £180,000. Anticipated duration 10 weeks. (3) Southampton Civic Centre Guildhall - The removal and replacement of existing asphalt to the flat roofs of the Guildhall building, to include refurbishment of north lights, windows and doors to satisfy historical requirements. Estimated value £180,000. Anticipated duration 10 weeks. Deadlines for submission of prequalification questionnaires is to be by 12:00, 18 February 2014. It is anticipated that tender docs will be issued March 2014 with a commencement on site of May 2014 for the crematorium works and June/July 2014 for the Library/Guildhall works. A minimum of three and maximum of six tenderers will be invited to tender for the works.
