The NPL requirement is for primary market research to provide evidence of industry demand for metrology and measurement training and to gather insight on buyer behaviour of metrology and measurement training. As a training business, we need confidence in how the metrology and measurement skills landscape is changing, particularly in a post COVID context with the restart of economic activity and the 'new normal'. A clear understanding is required of who our future users are (by occupational role, organisation type, industry sector), the types of next-generation skills products they need and industry commitment to purchase training. The purpose is to support the NPL skills growth strategy; we would like to move from a position of "we think" to "we know" in relation to our customers. NPL is in the process of implementing a 5 Year Skills Strategy that includes a number of recommendations to support NPL's ability to increase its impact in the UK.
