Refurbishment of Block MB Magee for temporary School of Medicine (Magee)

Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of Works to Ulster University. The Tenderer shall provide the Works in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements as set out in the Employer’s Requirements (Document 2 of the ITT Documentation) and the Contract. Tenderers shall include within their Commercial Submission (Document 5 of the ITT Documentation) all sums required to provide the Works in accordance with the Contract. The works comprise refurbishment and alterations to block MB on the Magee campus to accommodate the teaching requirements for the graduate entry medical programme in the newly established School of Medicine. The completed refurbishment will provide a mix of specialist teaching spaces, staff offices, meeting rooms and ancillary accommodation. The work required includes the following: - Internal alterations to walls and doorways - Structural alterations to accommodate a platform lift - New floor, wall and ceiling finishes throughout - Removal and replacement of existing LTHW pipework and radiators - Removal of existing cold-water tanks, hot water cylinder, immersion heater and associated pipework and replacement with new domestic services system - Mechanical ventilation via HRUs to large teaching spaces - New general and emergency lighting installation throughout - Existing LV distribution to be retained with new final circuits to provide additional power where required - Existing data equipment and network to be retained with new data outlets where required - Platform lift installation - Installation of AV equipment
