The University requires to purchase a continuous flow isotope ratio mass spectrometer, gas bench to measure δ18O (carbonates), and elemental analyser to allow for the simultaneous measurement of δ13C, δ15N, and δ34S (combustion mode) and δ2H and δ18O (pyrolysis mode) stable isotopic values in organic materials such as animal/human bone collagen, wood, plants etc. The instrumentation will be primarily used on archaeological materials.
