Southampton City Council invites applications from suitably experienced contractors who wish to tender for the following contract: The works comprise of the Site clearance of hard standing areas of tarmac, concrete, edgings, old sports fencing, redundant bowling green, general litter and excess vegetation. Preparation of site for playing pitches including the importing of top soil, site grading, and preparation of ground for grass seeding but no land drainage. 24 month maintenance of pitches after practical completion. Fencing work – new vertical bar railings with brick pillars to two entrances, 1.8m boundary weld fencing. New macadam path and hoggin road A minimum of three and maximum of eight tenderers will be invited to tender for the works. Deadlines for submission of prequalification questionnaires are to be by 19th November. Time 12.00 noon. It is anticipated that the tender documents will be issued as follows (1) Landscaping Works at the former Civil Service Sports Ground, Stafford Road, Freemantle, Southampton - Tender Documents will be issued in early December 2013, with a commencement in site in April 2014; the expected duration of the contract is 20 weeks.
