Tender description
Southampton City Council invites applications from suitably experienced contractors who wish to tender for one contract: (1) The works comprise of the construction of a new passenger lift shaft, including Enabling Works (consisting of temporary main entrance, removal of asbestos if found to be present and diversion of existing services), alterations to the existing external stores to form a scooter store. The project includes an element of Contractos Design for the Pre-fabricated Lift Shaft, the Lift Cart, Lift Motor Room and Lift Guide rails, based on a perfomance specification. Block 42 – 164 James St is a supported housing complex for older people comprising of 62 one bedroom flats and a communal lounge; with associated Office and WC’s. The accommodation houses vulnerable older people, many of whom have additional care needs which often entail colleagues from outside agencies visiting them to help with personal care meaning that access to the properties is vital. Estimated value £600,000 Deadlines for submission of prequalification questionnaires are to be by 18th of October 2013. Time 12:00. It is anticipated that tender docs will be issued as follows (1) Construction of new Lift Shaft at 42 – 164 James St. Southampton - Tender Documents will be issue end of October 2013 with a commencement on site early March 2014. The expected duration of the contract is 25 weeks.
