Alteration to the North Block, Civic Centre, Southampton

Tender description

Southampton City Council invites applications from suitably experienced contractors who wish to tender for four contracts: Lot 1 Works:- Provision of new containment and power supplies to North Block Ground Floor and Lower Ground Floor Offices, including some alterations to the existing power and containment installations. Lot 2 Works: Provision of new WC facilities in existing office to the North Block Ground Floor. Works include local stripping out, the formation of new studwork walls and internal doors, sanitaryware and drainage installations, new ceiling, floor and wall finishes, and provision of new water, lighting, power, and ventilation services. Lot 3 Works; Provision of new Supervision Rooms in existing office to the Lower Ground Floor of the North Block. Works include the formation of new studwork walls and internal doors, new ceiling, floor and wall finishes, and provision of new lighting, power, and ventilation services. Lot 4 Works: Formation of storage in existing former offices to the Police Block. Works include the removal of existing internal walls, and local areas of making good to existing walls, floor and ceilings, and the installation of new internal lighting to the areas. The North Block has recently been refurbished and will be partly occupied while the works are carried out. Estimated value between £50,000 and £100,000 for each lot. The programme is still being developed but is anticipated to be as follows: Tender Documents will be issued in January 2013 with a commencement on site ASAP but likely to be in March 2014. The expected duration of the works in the range of 5 to 9 weeks per lot, the period varies between lots. It is anticipated that a minimum of three and maximum of six contractors will be invited to tender for the works.
