The existing trunk main network capacity to the northern area of Fingal is considered deficient. The current peak demand for the supply area is in excess of the capacity of the existing trunk main. As a result, levels of service to customers in the area occasionally fall below desired levels. It has been identified that a new trunk main is required to augment the supply to this area and to ensure security of supply. (a) construction of a 1 200 mm dia. trunkmain from the Ballycoolen Reservoir site to Forrest Little, via Kingstown, to duplicate the existing 36” trunkmain, a total length of approximately 10 km.
