PIN for the RFT for the provision of Management, Operation, Maintenance and Development of Technical Facilities re the televising of Parliamentary Proceedings and the Oireachtas TV channel

Tender description

It is likely that any future broadcasting services contract will include a requirement for post-production facilities and expertise. The broadcasting services contract includes, but is not restricted to, the day to day management and service provision for: • 8760 hours annually of content on Oireachtas TV which includes 6894 hours of replayed content, 1608 hours of live content and 258 hours of content from our broadcast partners (all figures are approximate) • 2370 hours of live broadcasting of the Dáil. Seanad and Oireachtas Committees (figure is approximate) • Day to day operations and staffing • Digital archiving and storage • Operational aspects of video production facilities and Post production • Sound Operations and its associated production equipment • TV Channel automation, ingest, presentation play-out and signal distribution • Maintenance and support of the broadcast equipment including its A.V. and I.T. infrastructure. • Technical and support aspects (including facilities and staff) for a modern production facility producing ancillary content to the live proceedings (including live and as live studio content, features and documentary material) • Liaising with the web team to provide streaming solutions and improving our web video content • Develop Accessible content, including live subtitling and ISL interpretation • Liaison with ICT on possible on-demand player solutions • Future planning, development and strategy • Procurement of equipment • Project management Suitably qualified and interested bodies should note that the current broadcast contract falls to be renewed at the end of 2020.
