Tender description

East Sussex County Council wishes to identify a provider for East Sussex Young Carers Service (ESYCS). The definition of a young carer used is taken from section 96 of the Children and Families Act (2014); ‘a person under 18 who provides or intends to provide care for another person (of any age, except where that care is provided for payment, pursuant to a contract or as voluntary work). This relates to care for any family member who is physically or mentally ill, frail elderly, disabled or misuses alcohol or substances’. The funding made available for this provision from children’s services is to deliver the outcome of ensuring young carers caring responsibilities do not impact adversely on their welfare, education or social development. The project will be delivered countywide across East Sussex. The successful contractor will therefore establish a countywide East Sussex Young Carers Service (ESYCS). This contract is not divided into lots.
