UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) are setting up an OJEU procurement opportunity for an internal ‘Estates and Construction Consultancy Services’ framework agreement to support the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) in developing and delivering a broad range of estate professional services and construction project management services across its UK Managed Science Estate. The framework will be for 4 years with an estimated total value of 9 500 000 GBP + VAT. Ahead of commencing this procurement, we would like to raise awareness of this project by way of an industry day where we will introduce our plans for the NERC Estate. Our hope is that in engaging with industry experts that we can ensure that this requirement is well placed when it hits the market in the near future. The framework will be for 4 years with an estimated total value of 9 500 000 GBP + VAT. Prior to procurement commencement, we will be hosting an industry day where we will provide an overview of the opportunity and engage with industry specialists so we can ensure that this requirement manages expectations. NERC is the driving force of investment in environmental science in the UK advancing the frontier of environmental science by commissioning new research, infrastructure and training that delivers valuable scientific breakthroughs. NERC invests public money in world-leading science, designed to help us sustain and benefit from our natural resources, predict and respond to natural hazards and understand environmental change. The NERC UK Managed Science Estate which provides its primary science infrastructure and support facilities is divided across the 4 research centres and within the centres the science is delivered across 9 geographically spread sites consisting of laboratories and offices and supported by 8 research facilities. The services to be provided will fall into one of the following two categories. It is anticipated that there will be one lead consultant covering both categories with non-core services being sub-contracted out on a project by project basis. 1) Estate professional and technical services: this comprises of services in accordance with professional standards and competencies. Core services include the provision of multidisciplinary disciplines such as condition surveys, long term maintenance planning, valuations, strategic advice, planning, estate management, property health and safety compliance, building surveying services, asset management, business cases with non-core activities capturing specialist areas (including but not limited to) as fire strategy, sustainability, energy efficiency; 2) Construction project management services — comprising of core service disciplines of client adviser, project lead and contract administrator and non-core service disciplines (including but not limited to) architect, BIM, building services, civil and structural engineer; cost consultant; lead designer; principal designer and specialist surveys. The industry day will take place on 13.3.2020 at Polaris House, North Star avenue, Swindon SN2 1EU. There will be one session on the day from 12.00 to 16.00 and will comprise of a presentation about the Natural Environment Research Council, the estate and the opportunity the services will cover followed by a Q&A session. All requests to attend must be received by 16.00 on 10.3.2020. Space will be limited on the industry day and therefore attendance will be restricted to 2 people per supplier.
