Tender description

The health and social care board commission an air ambulance/air transfer service for the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care Sector (HSC). This service is utilised to transport patients with highly specialised or complex health needs who are required to travel to other parts of Great Britain to access the level of care required for their particular condition. The service is required to operate as a ‘door to door’ service and consequently requires a road ambulance element in addition to the fixed wing aircraft. To assist in creating a specification for the new tender exercise, the HSC is keen to facilitate a market engagement exercise to assist with the aircraft element of the specification. The HSC is particularly interested in understanding: Requirements for aircraft compliance with any relevant authority or agency Industry standards for the aircraft (for example European aero-Medical Institute — EURAMI) Aircraft access for a variety of patient groups including maternity patients and patients in wheelchairs. Prevention and control of infection; Maintenance and audits of vehicles (road ambulance and aircraft); Regulatory and statutory obligations. The market engagement exercise will be held at a location in Belfast. If you would like to participate please register your interest by contacting Andrew Carmichael at andrew.carmichael@hscni.net no later than 10.2.2020.
