Tender description

The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to alert potential suppliers to an opportunity in relation to the provision of evaluation services to conduct games-wide evaluation of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) are issuing a Request for Information (RFI) which consists of background information of the requirement and an online questionnaire, in which we are seeking responses from interested suppliers, relating to the delivery of the potential services. There is no guarantee that this RFI will result in a competitive tender. Responding or not responding to this RFI will not affect any tender process. The main aim of the games-wide evaluation will be to assess and measure the outputs, outcomes and impacts of the games at the local, city, regional and national levels. The budget for this piece of work, to be delivered between early 2021 and summer 2023, is proposed at GBP 1.238 m (exclusive of VAT). In summary, the scope of evaluation work will cover: — the economic, social and environmental impacts associated with delivering the games as well as the impacts of the legacy activities attached to it, before, during and after the event, — how the legacy arrangements were organised and delivered, focussed on a process evaluation, — the distribution of the impacts, looking at where and who has benefited the most from the games, — identification of lessons learned for future stakeholders to draw on.
