Tender description

This is a short stay service for adults with a learning disability which helps support family carers. A good short stay is responsive to unique family, individual and cultural circumstances, is regular and reliable, frequent enough, long enough, enjoyable and meaningful for the person with a learning disability. It is: • for all family carers to receive a complete break from the routine of caring, so combating isolation, stress, crisis and breakdown — ‘to feel energised and able to go on’; • to help a whole family or community to sustained caring for the person with a learning disability; • for people with learning disabilities to get an enjoyable break from their families, with real opportunities and choices to try new experiences, make friends and learn new skills. This service is for short stay respite services for adults with a learning disability.
