Tender description

Facilities management services for the exchange including maintenance and technical services. The exchange is the University of Birmingham’s flagship public engagement and conference venue in Birmingham city centre. The exchange is a comprehensive redevelopment of the Grade II listed Municipal bank at 3 Centenary Square (next to HSBC’s UK Headquarters) and is due to open to the public in September 2021. The venue’s spaces include a new south-facing extension and fully accessible entrance, a new café bar, project and conference rooms, offices, commercial hire facilities (assembly hall and board room) and public engagement exhibition spaces, some located in the historic vaults. Facilities management (FM) services for the exchange The FM services provision will consist of planned preventative and reactive maintenance to include the following: • fabric maintenance, • mechanical and electrical maintenance (MEM), • re-lamping, • fire safety and detection, including fire fighting systems, • lifts, hoists and MEWPS, • hard and soft landscaping maintenance, • water hygiene, • statutory inspections, • building management system (BMS).
