Donegal County Council are a partner in a European project called ‘Smart Energy Management in remote Northern, Peripheral and Arctic Regions’. Our requirement is based on setting up and running a pilot, that highlights the benefits to be realised from adopting a collaborative approach to energy management, ustilising a number of Community related buildings. These buildings are based in the same geographical area i.e. Letterkenny, County Donegal. The buildings are all different types and ages. Some have modern building management systems installed and some have little or no energy management installations. The buildings all have varying levels of building energy ratings. Currently the building owners are primarily seen as individual energy consumers only. This pilot will intend to highlight the potential benefits of also being an active collaborative participant in the following energy management practises: • Energy monitoring • Energy sharing • Timing of demand • Energy generation • Energy storage • Energy conservation We are seeking expertise in the following areas: • Recommend and assist with implementing a browser based, multi-user, energy management information system which is best suited to our pilot project. • The supply and installation of equipment i.e. sensors to measure energy consumption and transmit data to a host component i.e. the recommended energy management information system • Advice and assistance with integrating existing utility bills into the recommended energy management system
