Tender description

The DfE has issued grant monies to the LA to deliver staff training post COVID to support school recovery plans. The grant money is being transferred to Liverpool Learning Partnership to deliver this programme to schools on behalf of the LA. Objective of the programme is to deliver the following: Increase knowledge of the potential mental health and wellbeing impact of Covid-19 on staff, children and young people, and parents and carers. • Build understanding of evidence-based and straightforward responses and resources to support recovery. • Develop knowledge to introduce school and college staff to evidence-based and straightforward resources and structures for dissemination to children and young people and parents and carers. • Raise awareness of specialist and wider support services (statutory and independent) and when and how education professionals might signpost or refer children and young people, staff and/or parents and carers to them. In Liverpool, it has been agreed that this should be aligned with the Whole School Approach to mental health which has been developing in the city since 2016. As a Trailblazer for the Green Paper, and with 5 Mental Health Support Teams now in place, the WSA is best placed to ensure training is complementary and not duplicating all that has been offered to date. Given the Education Improvement Board’s first priority is mental health, this work will complement that work and ensure a coherent and consistent offer for school and education settings
