Tender description
Kingston Cromwell Road bus station was built in the mid 1990s and the freehold of the site is owned by TfL The bus station is served by 23 bus routes, with seven routes running throughout the night. It is used by 12 000 passengers daily – twice the number at the time the bus station opened. The bus station now suffers from a number of condition issues and TfL's has specifically identifies Kingston as a high priority bus station project. The following works are needed to redevelop the bus station: • demolition of existing buildings and canopy; • construction of new buildings (including operational office with customer information window, driver facilities, retail units and customer toilets); • installation of a new low-level canopy over the customer waiting and walking area; • widening of the bus passenger island to allow improved passenger and pedestrian movement through the station; • resurfacing of the bus station carriageway and footways; • upgrading of the drainage system; and • installation of new lighting and PA system. TfL is inviting Expressions of Interest from interested parties. Suppliers wishing to participate in this early market engagement process are invited to register their interest via ProContract TfL’s procurement portal https://procontract.due-north.com/Register (Project Reference — DN514331) by 12noon on Friday 18 December 2020. In registering their interest, suppliers should confirm their full company name, the company registration number and provide a single point of contact. This PIN does not signify the beginning of a procurement process and does not constitute commitment to undertake a procurement exercise unless and until a contract notice is issued.
