CYN wish to recruit a conservation architect led design team to take the project forward from feasibility stage to completion (RIBA Stages 4-7). The project has an anticipated construction cost of approximately GBP 4.5 million — GBP 5 million. The appointed consultant will include an architectural and conservation lead consultant supported by a structural engineer and services engineer. The consultant will also be required to provide CDMC services. Project management will be provided by the client in-house team and a separate appointment will be made for cost consultancy. Based on a construction cost of GBP 5 million it is anticipated that the consultant fee value for the commission from RIBA Stages 4-7 will be between GBP 350 000 — GBP 450 000. The Creative Youth Network is a successful charity helping young people in the Bristol area develop their potential particularly in the field of performing arts and related activities. The Creative Youth Network has acquired a major site in the centre of the City part of which comprises the Old Magistrates Court, an important Grade 2 listed building which is in very poor condition after years of neglect. The project has an anticipated construction cost of approximately GBP 4.5 million — GBP 5 million. The works will include major repairs to the historic listed building fabric including its fine interior and the original courts and the alteration and adaptation of the building to accommodate the proposed new uses.
