WP3649 - Heritage Strategy Consultants - AWARD

Tender description

Walsall Council is seeking a high quality provider to develop a Heritage Strategy and Action Plan for Walsall covering the period 2021-2026. The Council has received confirmation of a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) to improve the Council's heritage capacity and to stimulate heritage activity across the borough. The grant-funded project has two elements. Firstly, the commissioning of a heritage strategy and action plan, and secondly the creation of 1.25 FTE roles within the council to deliver elements of the strategy. This heritage strategy and action plan will set the agenda for the Council and potholders' work over the next 3 years to both champion heritage within the Council and stimulate interest in heritage in its most diverse forms across the borough. Walsall is one of 13 local authority areas identified in the NLHF's Strategic Funding Framework as being a priority for activity because of low uptake of applications and deprivation. Therefore, the strategy and action plan needs to set out a pathway to boldly demonstrate how heritage can deliver economic and community priorities.
