Tender description

Connectivity solution for the provision of an air traffic control service to Dundee, Inverness, Kirkwall, Stornoway and Sumburgh Airports from a combined surveillance centre located in Inverness. HIAL's ATMS strategy will deliver remote air traffic services to Dundee, Inverness, Kirkwall, Stornoway and Sumburgh Airports. High speed, resilient and diverse connectivity is required between each of the sites where air traffic control is located (including but not limited to remote tower camera equipment on each aerodrome, and surveillance equipment which may be located on or off the aerodrome). The procurement will award one or more contracts to meet this requirement. It is expected that connectivity will need to be provided using a combination of different technologies to ensure diversity and resilience, which is likely to mean one or more fibre connections at each site, combined with radio or other technology depending on the availability at each site. Connections will form part of a system which will be subject to CAA regulatory approval. The contract may be awarded as one or more contracts, in one or more lots. Alternatively HIAL may opt to use a framework contract. See Lot 1 description. HIAL may opt to use one or more lots to meet its requirements.
