Substance Misuse in Medway – event and workshops

<p>Medway Public Health would like to invite you to an event to discuss a system wide approach to substance misuse in Medway. Speakers will be from Public Health, Housing, Service Providers, Community and Voluntary Groups and will cover areas such as:</p> <ul> <li>Trends and issues &ndash; a national and local perspective</li> <li>Drug related deaths &ndash; an audit and lessons learned</li> <li>Online support &ndash; a review of resources available</li> <li>Rough sleepers, homelessness, and substance misuse &ndash; Severe and multiple disadvantage</li> <li>Co-occurring conditions of mental health and substance misuse &ndash; pathways and progress</li> <li>Chemsex &ndash; a case study</li> <li>Substances and parenthood &ndash; Safeguarding children and supporting families</li> <li>Naloxone and other peer mentor schemes &ndash; Learning from those who understand</li> <li>Addiction to prescription medicines &ndash; legitimate and diverted</li> <li>Substance misuse and wider health</li> <li>Commissioning intentions for Medway</li> </ul> <p>The event will be followed up by a series of 2-hour workshops, dates to be set, to help us better understand the views and opinions of people and organisations with an interest in Medway services.
