The three HV generators in Level C boiler house provide power in the event of an outage to the essential electrical supplies of substantial parts of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) site. Generators have a life expectancy of 20-25 years, and the ones at RHH are 46 year olds, and obsolete. This scheme comprises of: the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and setting into use of: 3 No HV generators (rated nominally at 2.5-3 MVA, which are large capacity), HV Switchgear and controls 1No LV generator LV Switchgear modifications and Controls HV and LV cabling Generator exhaust flues and cleaning systems provision of temporary generators to cover the full load for the duration of the works.
