Tender description
NGN's RIIO-2 business plan committed us to funding the planting of 40 000 trees in the Northern Forest areas within our network (White Rose Forest and HEYWoods). This directly supports the vision of the Northern Forest to plant 50 m trees stretching from Hull to Liverpool over a 25-year period. The Community Forest Trust (CFT) is the coordinating body for the Northern Forest areas (The Mersey Forest in North Cheshire and Merseyside, City of Trees in Greater Manchester, White Rose Forest in the Leeds City Region, and HEYwoods in Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire). The CFT is a not-for-profit registered environmental charity. Each of the individual forest areas are accountable to an individual local authority. Given the unique nature of this commission it is not considered meaningful to run a formal tender event for this, rather we have selected a well established, accountable partner with a track record of delivering such schemes.
