Tender description

The project aims to measure long-term changes in water temperature and other environmental variables in Irish rivers, lakes, and estuaries. River flow patterns are predicted to change under future climate scenarios, which may threaten the species which reside in these habitats. Understanding river flow dynamics will better inform policy and aid in the development of more effective coping mechanisms in future flood and drought episodes. The current purchase is for an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) that can measure velocity, depth, and discharge with an accurate GPS system on board. The contract is to supply and deliver one functioning system.
