Tender description

UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS) on behalf of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), wishes to establish a contract for the provision of statutory inspection services. The services are to be provided by an external provider (Inspection Body). The statutory inspections are to comply with the following regulations: • The Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER); • The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR); • The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH). UK SBS will be managing this procurement process in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as may be amended from time to time), (the ‘Regulations’). This is a services contract being procured under the Open OJEU Procedure Regulations. The statutory inspections are to comply with the following regulations: • the Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER); • the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR); • the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH). The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) locations to be covered under this contract are: • Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), Harwell, Oxfordshire; • including Chilbolton Observatory, Chilbolton, Hampshire; • Daresbury Laboratory (DL) Daresbury, Warrington; • The UK Astronomy Technology Centre (UKATC) Edinburgh, Scotland. All locations comprise of a full range of Lifting Equipment — goods and passenger lifts, forklifts (reach and counterbalance) cranes (jib and overhead) and lifting accessories – slings, eyebolts, shackles, lifting frames, etc. The contract value is GBP 408 000.00 (ex.VAT) over the contract duration including potential extensions. This has been estimated at GBP 102 000.00 per annum. This contract will be awarded on a 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 basis. The contracting authority are only in position to commit to 1 year at a time.
