Tender description

Nottingham City Council is seeking tenders from one or more sufficiently experienced and qualified suppliers for the provision of processing of municipal waste and dry recycling. The contractor shall accept all single stream or co-mingled dry recyclable materials delivered to its site(s) on behalf of the Council for processing, either loose or bagged and the contractor shall use or sell the processed material for the purpose of recycling or re-use. The material shall not be disposed as waste, with the exception of a reasonable amount of reject material. The contractor shall accept all inert single stream or co-mingled inert wastes delivered to its site(s) on behalf of the Council for processing and the contractor shall use or sell the processed material for the purpose of recycling or re-use. The material shall not be disposed as waste, with the exception of a reasonable amount of reject material. The contractor shall accept all residual waste streams delivered to its site(s) on behalf of the Council for processing, treatment, recovery and disposal, and single stream materials identified within the pricing schedule for lot 3 for recycling or recovery or disposal. For materials which are separated by the contractor from delivered residual waste streams for the purposes of recycling, recycling means the reprocessing in a production process of the waste materials for the original purpose, or for other purposes. The waste must be delivered to, and accepted by, a company, individual or organisation which will reprocess waste that is an acceptable form for inclusion in a recycling process. This may include waste that is exported for recycling (compliant with rules on the transfrontier shipment of waste).
