This is not a call for competition, but a notice to potential and current providers for the forthcoming renewal of Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) All Wales contract, should you require bid documentation to be provided through the medium of the Welsh language please e-mail lee.bodenham@wales.nhs.uk and Sarah.Muir@wales.nhs.uk by Friday 18th December 2020 Lot 1: Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board The Mental Health Act (1983) was updated in Wales in 2007 to incorporate the introduction of a statutory requirement for Health Boards to commission Independent Mental Health Advocacy services for patients in a hospital setting. In 2010, the Mental Health (Wales) Measure was passed by Welsh Government giving the Measure the same legal status in Wales as other Mental Health Acts. Whilst the Mental Health Acts (1983 & 2007) are primarily concerned with admission and discharge from hospital, the 2010 Measure is concerned with the support that should be available for people with Mental Health problems in Wales regardless of where they are living. NWSSP – Procurement Services is seeking to undertake a robust procurement process for the provision of Independent Mental Health Advocacy services within Wales.
