Tender description

The Health Research Board (HRB) is the lead agency in Ireland supporting and funding health research. We provide funding, maintain health information systems and conduct research linked to national health priorities. Our aim is to improve people's health, build health research capacity and make a significant contribution to Ireland's knowledge economy. Our latest Corporate Strategy clearly outlines how we hope to achieve this working in partnership with other organizations. The HRB currently has a Legal Officer who provides all general legal services as required. This invitation to tender is for a separate piece of work . The HRB have the following awards which are classified as Infrastructure awards as they provide supports to the research community to conduct clinical trial activity. In alignment to the HRB strategy , clinical trial infrastructures are defined as the physical facilities, equipment, coordination, research supports, and networks used by the research community to design and conduct clinical trials nationally. Each one provides a single point of access to resources, knowledge and skills and are a key part of the national research landscape. The grant funded activities completed through these awards relate to the supports provided to conduct high quality clinical trials. No trial activity is funded under these awards, apart from an exception under Cancer trials in Ireland that may include legacy trials funded through a previous funding model. These include; 1. Clinical Research Facilities/Centres (CRF/Cs) which are located on the sites of hospitals, provide the infrastructure, physical space and facilities, experienced research and specialist support staff and the necessary quality and oversight programs that are critical for the successful conduct of world-class clinical research. They are hosted with the support of the hospitals academic partner, i.e. the HRB contract is envisaged with the academic partner only 2. Cancer trials in Ireland
