Tender description
The London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth are seeking to commission and procure extra care services within the boroughs. The authorities anticipate to commence a tendering exercise for this provision in the summer of 2021. As part of pre-procurement activity the authorities are carrying out soft market testing, to provide the opportunity for engagement with suitably experienced and interested suppliers, to obtain feedback on our commissioning intentions and future procurement plans. For more information on how to participate in soft market testing refer to section VI of this notice or visit the Delta eSourcing portal. The authorities intend to commence a joint tendering exercise in the summer of 2021 for the provision of extra care services within the London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth. Extra Care is an important part of Richmond and Wandsworth Council’s strategic plans to maintain people’s independence in their home while providing suitable levels of care when needed. Extra care housing comprises of self-contained homes with design features and support services available to enable self-care and independent living. Primarily the schemes aim to house older people aged 55 and over, with a small proportion of working age adults. In recent years there has been a shift in extra care housing in supporting the needs of other cohorts, such as people with a learning disability, mental ill health and physical disabilities.
